Job Description & Details
This is a specialized contract role focused squarely on enterprise SaaS governance and platform administration rather than writing raw machine learning code or managing bare-metal cloud infra. If you spend your days wrestling with Entra ID, enforcing DLP policies, and reigning in rogue enterprise app integrations, this gig will feel right at home. It is a 6-month engagement with a high likelihood of extension for someone who knows how to lock down corporate software ecosystems without breaking user productivity.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days acting as the gatekeeper and architect for heavy-duty enterprise platforms, making sure everything from user access to data classification is tightly controlled. Your routine will involve configuring granular IAM policies, setting up strict data governance frameworks, managing app registrations, and guiding changes through formal CAB processes. You will also get your hands dirty evaluating and integrating emerging AI tooling like Copilot or Claude securely into the enterprise perimeter, ensuring shadow IT doesn't sneak in through the back door.
The Core Tech Stack
You need deep, battle-tested experience administering platforms like Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Purview, Power Platform, Google Workspace, ServiceNow, or Salesforce. IAM is non-negotiable here—you must live and breathe SSO, RBAC, OAuth, Conditional Access, and least-privilege access models. Data governance, DLP, and connector security are your bread and butter. While Terraform and CI/CD pipelines are nice supporting skills to have in your back pocket, they won't save you if you don't understand enterprise SaaS administration inside and out.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on how you handle tricky permission escalation scenarios and complex tenant-to-tenant identity federations. They'll likely ask you to walk through a time you had to implement a strict DLP policy across a massive user base without triggering a mutiny from the business units, looking closely at how you balance security constraints with developer and user velocity. They want to see pragmatic judgment, not just textbook compliance.
Application Advice
Skip the generic AI development buzzwords on your resume and heavily emphasize your battle scars in SaaS platform administration, IAM configurations, and compliance controls. Make sure keywords like Entra ID, Purview, RBAC, OAuth, and Change Management are front and center so you easily clear the ATS filters. Frame your past projects around how you secured complex enterprise environments while keeping the business moving forward.
