Job Description & Details

This is a solid backend engineering role focused on modernizing and scaling cloud-native services using Java and Spring Boot. If you enjoy building distributed systems and working with event-driven architectures on Azure, this gig offers a great playground without getting bogged down by legacy tech.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You'll spend your days designing, building, and maintaining microservices that handle heavy enterprise workloads. Expect to spend a good chunk of your time setting up data pipelines with Kafka or Azure Event Hub, integrating NoSQL storage solutions like Cosmos DB, and optimizing cloud functions. You will also collaborate closely with product and platform teams to ensure high availability, low latency, and robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

The Core Tech Stack

Your bread and butter here needs to be Java coupled with the Spring ecosystem—specifically Spring Boot and Spring Cloud for distributed service coordination. Cloud proficiency on Azure is non-negotiable, particularly knowing your way around Azure Functions and Cosmos DB. On top of that, you'll need a solid grasp of event streaming via Kafka or Event Hub, and a willingness to leverage AI-assisted developer tools to speed up your daily coding workflows.

Interview Expectations

Expect the hiring team to dig into how you handle distributed transactions and eventual consistency when using NoSQL databases like Cosmos DB alongside event brokers like Kafka. A great way to answer is by walking through a real failure scenario where network partitioning or consumer lag occurred, and explaining how you monitored and resolved it. They'll also likely probe your expertise in optimizing Spring Cloud configurations for cloud-native deployments, looking for someone who understands resource management and scaling limits rather than just someone who can spin up a basic app.

Application Advice

To get past the ATS for this role, make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on experience with the exact enterprise stack requested: Java, Spring Boot, and Azure services. Don't just list them as bullet points; weave them into project descriptions by detailing how you utilized Spring Cloud or managed cloud functions in production environments. Mentioning your familiarity with GitHub Actions and modern CI/CD setups will also catch the recruiter's eye immediately.
