Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty enterprise architecture role focused on designing scalable application solutions, modernizing legacy systems, and enforcing high-level technical standards. You will spend a lot of time bridging the gap between high-level business goals and ground-level distributed system design, meaning your ability to document and justify your tech choices will be just as important as your coding ability.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Expect to spend your days knee-deep in system design, migration strategies, and defining how disparate services talk to each other. You'll be collaborating with cross-functional teams to map out data models, architecting secure microservices, and setting the technical guardrails that the rest of the engineering organization will follow. If you hate writing documentation or arguing the merits of different architectural frameworks, this role will definitely test your patience.
The Core Tech Stack
You need a rock-solid foundation in enterprise solution architecture, specifically leveraging cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Mastery of microservices, RESTful API design, and distributed data modeling is non-negotiable. Knowing your way around containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, alongside CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, will seriously accelerate your day-to-day workflow here.
Interview Expectations
Be ready for deep-dive grilling on system migrations and legacy modernization. A classic question you will likely face is how you would safely migrate a monolithic, high-traffic legacy database to a distributed cloud architecture with zero downtime, where the interviewer is secretly testing your risk mitigation and data consistency strategies. Another favorite will be defending a specific architectural tradeoff you've made in the past, such as choosing eventual consistency over ACID compliance in a high-throughput microservices environment.
Application Advice
Your resume needs to heavily feature terms like solution architecture, enterprise migration, microservices, and cloud infrastructure right at the top to clear the automated ATS filters. Don't just list technologies; highlight specific projects where you owned end-to-end system design, established security models like RBAC, and successfully transitioned legacy workloads to the cloud with minimal business disruption.
