What You'll Actually Be Doing
You will spend your days architecting and deploying AI models that plug directly into complex SAP environments, handling messy enterprise data, and building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines that actually scale. Expect to spend a lot of time debugging why an LLM hallucinated on a specific supply chain data point, optimizing API latency between cloud AI services and on-premise ERP modules, and collaborating with data engineers to ensure clean data ingestion.
The Core Tech Stack
You need a strong foundation in Python and machine learning frameworks, but the real ticket here is deep, hands-on SAP experience. They need someone who understands enterprise resource planning workflows, ABAP or SAP cloud integration, and how to leverage vector databases alongside traditional enterprise data stores. If you don't know SAP inside and out, you're going to hit a wall very quickly here.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to ask you to design a secure RAG pipeline that extracts data from SAP S/4HANA without breaching enterprise compliance boundaries. They are secretly looking to see if you understand the security overhead of enterprise data or if you just know how to call OpenAI APIs. You will also likely be grilled on how you handle edge cases when enterprise data is messy, incomplete, or locked behind legacy protocols.

Don't just list every AI buzzword you know on your resume; front-load your actual enterprise integration experience.
