Oracle Utilities C2M/CCB Consultant

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a heavy-duty enterprise implementation role focused on the Oracle Utilities ecosystem, specifically C2M and CCB. If you have spent the last several years knee-deep in Meter-to-Cash processes and utility domain complexities, this gig gives you a chance to own the architecture and configuration end-to-end. It is a traditional utility transformation play where domain expertise matters just as much as technical chops.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

Expect to spend your days knee-deep in gap analysis, translating messy business requirements from utility stakeholders into robust technical solutions using the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF). You will be designing maintenance objects, configuring business objects, and writing complex algorithms while managing the entire lifecycle from SIT and UAT all the way to production support. Client-facing communication is a massive part of this, so you will regularly be defending design decisions to business leads who might not understand the underlying technical constraints.

The Core Tech Stack

You need solid, hands-on battle scars with Oracle Utilities C2M and CCB, with CCB experience being completely non-negotiable. Your OUAF toolbox needs to be fully stocked, meaning you should be comfortable building and tweaking Maintenance Objects, Business Objects, Scripts, Zones, Algorithms, and Business Services without constantly leaning on documentation. While Java and Groovy are listed as preferred, your ability to navigate the proprietary Oracle framework configurations and understand the nuances of Market Transactions and Billing is what will actually get you across the finish line.

Interview Expectations

When you sit down with the engineering lead, expect them to test your depth on OUAF architecture by asking you to walk through how you would optimize a failing algorithm or script in a high-volume C2M environment. They are secretly looking to see if you understand the database impact of your configuration choices rather than just knowing how to click through the UI. They will also likely drill into a past implementation where a Meter-to-Cash workflow broke during UAT, testing how you handle cross-functional pressure and root-cause analysis.

Application Advice

Your resume needs to scream Oracle Utilities domain expertise rather than general software engineering. Make sure keywords like CCB, C2M, Meter-to-Cash, OUAF, Business Objects, and Algorithms are front and center, ideally tied to specific enterprise implementations you have shepherded through UAT and production. If you have written custom Groovy hooks or Java extensions within the OUAF framework, highlight those specifically to stand out from the purely functional consultants.
