Job Description & Details
This is a heavy-duty migration role for someone who has spent years in the trenches of TIBCO middleware and is now helping enterprises bridge the gap to Azure. You will be knee-deep in moving complex, legacy integrations into modern cloud-native architectures, which means you need to know both worlds inside and out. If you enjoy untangling messy enterprise dependencies and designing clean cloud patterns, this is a solid gig.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
Your day-to-day will revolve around untangling existing TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x and EMS implementations and architecting their equivalents in Azure. You'll be working directly with stakeholders to map out migration strategies, writing intricate XSLT transformations, and building out Logic Apps, Service Bus topologies, and Azure Functions. Expect to spend a good amount of time troubleshooting bottlenecks, setting up CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps, and ensuring that everything from legacy SOAP endpoints to modern REST APIs are migrated without disrupting production.
The Core Tech Stack
You absolutely must have deep, hands-on muscle memory with TIBCO BW 5.x and EMS, paired with at least 5 years dedicated to Azure Integration Services—specifically Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and Azure Functions. Strong XML, XSD, XSLT, and API design skills are non-negotiable since legacy data transformations will make or break this migration. Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and enterprise integration patterns will be your daily bread and butter.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to grill you on real-world migration scenarios, likely asking how you handle state management and error handling when moving from TIBCO EMS to Azure Service Bus. They want to hear about a specific time a legacy integration failed during cutover and how you diagnosed and resolved it. They aren't looking for textbook definitions; they want battle scars and proof that you can architect resilient, fault-tolerant cloud systems under pressure.
Application Advice
To get past the ATS and grab the recruiter's attention, make sure your resume explicitly calls out your end-to-end migration experience from TIBCO to Azure. Don't just list technologies; highlight specific projects where you modernized legacy middleware using Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Azure Functions. Weave in keywords like 'API Management', 'CI/CD', and 'enterprise integration patterns' naturally within your project descriptions to show you speak the exact language of this role.
