SAP EAM Functional Consultant

Not Disclosed

Job Description & Details

This is a strictly on-site, boots-on-the-ground SAP EAM implementation gig in downtown Houston requiring complete physical presence from day one. You'll be stepping into a hands-on functional role where configuration skills and full-lifecycle delivery experience matter way more than high-level deck building.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

You will be driving the execution of complex asset management workflows, running workshops, mapping out fit-gap analyses, and getting deep into the actual SAP configuration for PM, SM, and PS modules. Expect to handle everything from functional locations and maintenance orders to spare parts integration and cutover activities without relying on a development team to do the heavy lifting.

The Core Tech Stack

You need absolute mastery over SAP EAM and Plant Maintenance, paired with solid fluency in Service Management (SM) and Project Systems (PS). The team relies heavily on your ability to configure end-to-end maintenance processing and integrate seamlessly with MM, FI, and third-party tools, so superficial knowledge won't survive the first week.

Interview Expectations

Be ready to walk through a specific scenario where a preventive maintenance schedule broke down during a live cutover and explain how you resolved it. The interviewer is testing your hands-on configuration muscle and your real-world battle scars from managing Greenfield or Brownfield implementations. You'll also likely be quizzed on how you handle tricky cross-module data dependencies between PM and PS during integration.

Application Advice

Skip the generic PM buzzwords and make sure your resume explicitly highlights your hands-on SAP configuration history rather than just project management summaries. Ensure terms like functional locations, maintenance orders, fit-gap analysis, and full-cycle implementations are front and center so your application easily clears the initial ATS filters.
