Job Description & Details
This is a 12-month contract-to-hire OnBase Senior Engineer role for someone local to Phoenix who can handle day one on-site before going fully remote. You'll be maintaining enterprise content management workflows, troubleshooting configurations, and keeping a close eye on system health. It is a solid gig if you have deep Hyland OnBase experience and want a path toward converting to a permanent internal FTE role.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
You'll spend your days managing OnBase configurations, fixing integration bottlenecks, and reviewing event logs for anomalies. A lot of the job involves system analysis, building out infrastructure changes, and writing clear process documentation so internal teams can actually understand the workflows. You will also participate in strategy sessions to help streamline government processes and reduce waste, meaning you need to be comfortable talking with non-technical stakeholders.
The Core Tech Stack
You need solid, hands-on experience with Hyland OnBase Engineering, including workflow configurations, work view, and integrations. Having on-premise server experience is a big plus because you'll be dealing with environment troubleshooting that goes beyond basic cloud administration. Because this is for a government or state-level client, previous public sector experience will help you hit the ground running without needing a deep dive into compliance standards.
Interview Expectations
Expect the hiring team to test your deep understanding of OnBase architecture and troubleshooting methodology. They will likely ask how you handle a critical workflow failure during peak production hours, and what your exact steps are for diagnosing the root cause using Event Viewer and server logs. The interviewer is secretly looking to see if you can methodically isolate issues independently without breaking existing integrations.
Application Advice
To make it past the ATS, your resume needs to explicitly feature keywords like 'OnBase Engineering', 'workflow configuration', and 'server troubleshooting'. Don't just list OnBase as a skill; make sure your experience section highlights specific integration projects you've built and supported. Emphasize any past government or state contracting background front and center, as that is a major preference for this client.
